I recently released all the final portraits from my One Question portrait series. As a continuation of the release, I figured it would be interesting for you to hear a few explanations of the words chosen to my question, “How would you describe what music means to you and your life?”
This is Mike, the guitarist of Long Island bikercore band Cicada. When I asked Mike what music meant to his life, it took him a little bit of time to choose the right word that fits his answer. We talked about what he was thinking, which was basically that when he is on stage or playing in rehearsal, he feels a sense of relief from the stress of his life. He said that if he doesn’t play his songs for an extended amount of time that he starts to get frustrated. The release that he gets through his music keeps Balance in his life. Mike has also mentioned that “If not for music, I would’ve climbed a clock tower with a rifle a long time ago”. He’s such a jokester. ;)
