I recently met with Elite Models in New York City to present my portfolio in hopes of testing with some of their models. It was one of the most important meetings that I’ve had so far since I was sitting with one of the industry’s top model agencies. To say that I was a bit nervous would be an understatement…times ten. Although I was very nervous I still had to walk in with confidence in my work and not let the nerves get the best of me. Well, as soon as I met with Elite’s Development Team agent, I felt completely at ease. The agent was extremely nice and spoke very openly with me about their needs for the models. We joked around, talked about what I am trying to accomplish by working with them, and a number of other topics were covered. I expected to only be with them for 5-10 minutes but I ended up leaving the meeting after 45. So far, I can say that Elite is a great agency with some amazing people that work there. Their team of models are top notch and I’m really looking forward to working with them again.
My first shoot for Elite was with Olivia. As soon as I met with Olivia I knew it was going to be a great shoot. Her personality was simply amazing and she was very comfortable in front of the camera (and it shows). I decided to take the photo shoot to Southampton, NY. This town in eastern Long Island is one of my favorites to work in. There are so many great spots to shoot at. We started off at a park just off of Main Street that has an amazing monument as the center piece to the grounds. I love this first set of photos, especially the two with Olivia against the wall. And the first photo with her hair flying all over her face from the wind…love it! I’m a big fan of movement in photos, so this first photo is beautiful in my eyes.

We then moved on to The Parrish Art Museum. I’ve shot here a couple times already but never with someone like Olivia. All I had to do was put her in front of an old iron gate or a painted wall and she just killed it!

Kept the shoot moving along (literally) as we just walked around town looking for more places to shoot at. We came across this alley between two stores and I knew it would be great for her. The sun created the blown out background and the two stores’ siding brings your eye right to Olivia.

Beautiful model sitting on a front porch? Why not!

Towards the end of our shoot we came across this coffee shop. There were a bunch of people hanging out in front of the shop which worked great for the shot. We got a couple shots of Olivia sitting at this table with all the people at their tables around her but this shot really stood out to me. I love the look of her dress and the expression on her face. She really pops off that dark window background too.

The amazingly talented Mayra was on hand for hair and makeup styling. I also had Danielle helping out as my assistant and am extremely grateful that she was there. Both Mayra and Danielle helped me out with putting together the outfits for Olivia. What a team!
What do you guys think of Olivia? Comments are always welcome here on my blog.
